Retail partners take the stage at industry events
Two leading Co-op Wholesale retail partners have been sharing their expertise on key industry issues at leading events at the end of March.
Retail Week People and Leadership Summit
Nisa retailer Benedict Selvaratnam of Freshfields Market in Croydon joined Co-op’s Paul Gerrard at Retail Week’s People and Leadership Summit. They took part in a vital panel discussion on ‘Protecting Your People from the Rise of Retail Crime.’
With retail crime cases on the rise, Ben and Paul explored the challenges faced by convenience stores and discussed strategies to safeguard staff and businesses.
Ben said: "I think events like today are so important because they help bring retail crime to the forefront. Paul's work in Parliament allows our voices to be heard. For a long time, we didn't feel that was the case as independent retailers."
Talking Retail Live
Meanwhile, Kaual Patel of Nisa Local Torridon Road took to the stage at Talking Retail Live to discuss ‘What’s in Store for the Future of Independent Retail?’
Kaual highlighted the value of industry events, saying: "Normally, we're within our four walls, but today we've had the chance to engage with industry experts and fellow retailers. It’s reassuring to know we’re not alone in facing these challenges."
Both events provided invaluable networking opportunities and a platform to address critical issues in the sector.
