Katie Secretan speaks at ACS Conference 2025 on the 'Future of Convenience'

Our Managing Director, Katie Secretan, joined industry leaders at the Association of Convenience Stores’ #Conference25 on Wednesday, sharing expert insight on how Co-op Wholesale is shaping the future of independent retail.

As a panelist, Katie explored how understanding and acting on the needs of retailers and their shoppers ensures convenience stores remain essential to their communities. She highlighted how the scale and diversity of the Co-op Group allows us to provide unmatched support and resources to our partners, helping them stay ahead in an ever-evolving sector.

Katie also spoke about the growing importance of value, noting that price-conscious shoppers are opening up opportunities for credible own brand ranges and effective, loyalty-driving promotions. “That’s why we’re proud to offer a wholesale own brand range that leads the market,” she said.

Emphasising the importance of data, Katie added: “Different types of stores - from forecourts to village shops - have different needs. Using our data and analytics, we can support retailers in tailoring their ranges, especially in areas like fresh food, where precision is key.”

With 6.2 million Co-op members and around 8,000 stores served across the UK, Katie underlined how data is a powerful bridge between Nisa and the newly rebranded Co-op Wholesale. By leveraging insights at scale, we’re removing the guesswork for retailers and delivering what really matters in local communities.

With the right range, the right data, and a community-first approach, Co-op Wholesale is proud to lead the way in convenience retail.

Using our data and analytics, we can support retailers in tailoring their ranges, especially in areas like fresh food, where precision is key.
